This effectively eliminates Apple, which recently hit $3 trillion in market value. It was the first company to do so. None of the 13 top vendors, except for Microsoft, Salesforce, and Amazon, was able achieve double-digit revenue growth. Despite its high sales, Huawei saw its revenue decline by 9 percent in 2021. Synergy believes there are many opportunities IT vendors can exploit in the next year, particularly in cloud and enterprise software. John Dinsdale (chief analyst at Synergy), stated in a prepared statement that vendors saw double-digit growth across a wide range of enterprise technology markets. “Cloud and software-oriented market were the top performers, driving stellar growth in AWS [Amazon Web Services], Microsoft, and Salesforce.” He warned that vendors who are focused on legacy technologies risk being left behind. Vendors that are primarily focused on legacy technologies or products will continue to struggle to generate exciting levels of growth.
