- IoT: Nokia will use AWS infrastructure, particularly Amazon Machine Learning and AWS Greengrass, to develop IoT solutions. This will be in addition to its own IMPACT IoT platform as well as its edge computing offering.
- Nokia will offer a bundle of support services to service providers who are moving to AWS. This includes design, migration, and implementation.
- User Experience: The AWS console will be integrated with Nuage Networks, Nokia’s software-defined networking business acquired in 2016 when it bought Alcatel-Lucent. Nokia stated that this integration will allow “secure branch connectivity within hybrid environments with ‘Single Pane of Glass’ capabilities.”
- 5G: The two companies will “generate new Edge Cloud and 5G strategies and guidance for customers, including reference architectures.”
Terry Wise, head, Channels and Alliances, AWS, stated, “We are thrilled to partner with Nokia for cloud transformation for service provider providers and enable the digital transform journey for our mutual large enterprise clients.”
